CFD analysis

Intelligent use of modeling tools combined with in-depth interpretation and evaluation of the result allows you to make accurate decisions throughout the entire product development process. Fluid mechanics simulations (CFD calculations) allow to understand the complex relations between design parameters and allows to improve the efficiency of devices, reduce costs and reduce design time.

AERODYNAMICS

Aerodynamic analyzes using CFD approach can be used not only to design an aircraft, but also to reduce drag, or to determine aerodynamic loads.

AUTOMATIC SHAPE OPTIMISATION

CFD simulations can also be used to optimize the shape, i.e. to search for the optimal geometry of the device elements in terms of specific performance parameters. One of applications may be for example finding the optimal shape of a duct, which will ensure low pressure drop while meeting the additional conditions associated with reducing the amount of material used, or not going beyond the available area.

PROCESS MACHINERY

Fluid mechanics analyzes (CFD calculations) may also include heat transfer, chemical reactions, flows through porous materials, and simulations of two-phase fluids with a free surface. CFD calculations find practical application, in particular, when testing devices whose effectiveness depends on achieving the given flow parameters, achieving a given degree of mixing or low pressure loss.

HEAT TRANSFER

In order to obtain an accurate result of thermal simulations, it is necessary to model the flow taking into account forced and free convection. Our software also has the ability to model radiation. We have extensive experience in thermal modeling using CFD tools and in simulations of variable long-term phenomena with many heating and cooling cycles (e.g. solar collectors, or the work of insulation materials in seasonal heat tanks).

FLOW IN POROUS MEDIA

We have experience in developing custom models and performing simulations of flow in porous media.

MULTIPHASE FLOW

We have experience in performing simulations including different phases and contact phenomenon, e.g. water and air flow with surface tension, soldification and boiling.

COMPLEX MULTIPHYSICS

We have experience in developing custom models and performing simulations including various physical phenomena’s. An example of models which we have developed is a simulation of the MCFC fuel cell which includes electrolyte distribution in the porous material of the electrodes, the gas transport and concentration and finally the reactions including electrons and ions flow.
